Describe a typical day
Every morning when I get to school I am greeted with smiles from
students and faculty in the hallways, which helps me to have a
positive attitude throughout the day. After sitting through two
morning classes I like to do something that really interests me so
during lunch I go to the library and do a little reading with a snack in hand. After school I get any missed work, and see any
teachers if I need help before heading to play rehearsal. After rehearsal I go home grab something to eat and head to one of three acting classes, regents
review or the Clear Channel internship and if im lucky I get home for good by around 8 and get my homework done. I like to be in
bed by 930.
List things you like about yourself:
I really like how dedicated I am, and I am proud of how hard I work. I like how caring I am.
If you were a book, what would your title be?--and why?
If I were a book I would be called "A Smile From The Soul",
because my positive outlook and contagious smile is the one thing that can keep both myself and the people around me going on even the gloomiest of days.
How do you express yourself?
I express myself through theatre and art.
What makes you proud to be a SCSD student?
I am proud to be an SCSD student because the Syracuse
District is one of great opportunity. I have been exposed to many
different people and organizations that are sure to be significant on into my future. I know that in the SCSD I have the support of the people around me with which I can grow into a very successful individual.
What does SCSD mean to you?
The Syracuse City School District gives me the chance to shine as an individual and is preparing me for my future, because of the dedicated staff I feel as if I will be ready for whatever comes my way, and that means the world to me.
What are some things you do that affect others in a positive way?
I work very hard in school and I think that my focus encourages my peers to work harder. My kindness also reminds the people around me what can come from being respectful to other people. I think my involvement in school and community activities highlights the positive things that people can get involved in.
Who or what motivates you?
I have a lot of support from my mother, and peaceful competition
between my brothers. I also have wonderful teachers who really want to see me do well, and self-motivation to do my personal best. I understand that what I do in high school will affect my life as an adult.
If you had the chance to address a person who had a misconception about the SCSD, what would you say?
I myself am new to the city schools and I understand your
skepticism, I did not think very highly of the district before I was
an active student, but now I can clearly see that the good things in the city schools out-weigh the bad. I find that the amount of
diversity at Fowler and in the district as a whole is really special.
I find myself not learning only in the classroom but from the students as well. I know that I have become a much more accepting individual and that to me is just as important as a good education. I also find the teachers to be extremely impressive individuals. They work very hard to connect to the students on a personal level and want to help them improve themselves. They look at each student as a unique individual and their dedication reminds me that people care about the future of their students. |
