A day in my life is pure craziness, but I wouldn't have it any other way.  I usually wake up late, but once I'm up, I'm excited to go to school. I work hard but I am able to balance my time between school, work and friends.  At lunch you can find me bouncing around the lunch room or hanging with "the crew" in the hallway.  Lastly, thoughout my day, I eat, sleep and breathe DANCE.  I'm so glad to have found a passion in life.

Five things about yourself:
   My Curly Hair
   My Style
   My Sense of Humor
   My Dignity
   My Discipline

I express myself through the clothes that I wear, the music that I listen to, and my everyday actions.  I live my life being exactly who I am so every life decision I make is an expression of myself.

I am proud to be an SCSD student because it is Okay to stand out and be who you are.  I also like the fact that I am able to carry the name of my school and how all of my achievements reflect positively towards my school.

SCSD means .... Super Cool Students...Duh!  :)
School is like my second home.  I love the atmosphere of all of the familiar faces, all united for one goal, to get an education.  My school is preparing me for the world through making lifelong friendships, knowledge, and priceless opportunities

I love dance.  I also teach dance to elementary school kids.  I love being able to take my passion/talents and share them with others.

I motivate myself because I work h ard first and foremost to keep myself happy.  I have had the value of hard work instilled in me and I push myself to reap the satisfaction of achieving my goals.

Describe a typical day
Basically, I go to school, go home and vice versa.  Sometimes I participate in after school activities such as set painting for the National Art Honor Society.  A majority of my time spent outside of school is wasted through either reading or surfing the web.  I also like to draw on several occasions.

List things you like about yourself
Do I really want to sound conceited?  I guess if I were to answer, I’ll say that I like my determination.  I’m not really one who likes to give up.  Whenever I give up on something I tend to swallow myself up in regret.

If you were a book, what would your title be?--and why?
My title would be A little Bird in the Sky.  This is mainly because I’m obsessed with birds.  I love them with a passion and often wish that I was a bird myself.  When you observe birds, you realize that many of them act just like us humans do

How do you express yourself?
I express myself through my art.  I like drawing and would sometimes randomly scribble on a sheet of paper.  When upset, I like to write to let out all of my bottled up emotions.

What makes you proud to be an SCSD student?
I’m proud of our schools in general.  We’ve had many accomplishments, especially when it comes to sports and drama.  In Henninger, there’s a huge showcase with all of the lovely trophies that our athletes have won.  Our actors are also very talented, as is proven through their plays.  When it comes to art, we have some of the best teachers that I know.  I guess that I’m proud to be an SCSD student since I could experience all of the talents that the students (and teachers) bring.

What does SCSD mean to you?
To me, SCSD symbolizes opportunity.  Our schools enable you to find out who you are and where your interests lye.  In our schools, there are so many things that we could get involved in.  We also symbolize the strong cultural diversity so uncommon in many other schools.

What are some things you do that affect others in a positive way?
Well, I once participated in Jenna Mentors, which basically involves teaching kids the importance of nonviolence.  I guess I also tend to indirectly help the planet by trying to not be a litter bug.

Who or what motivates you?
My mother motivates me a lot.  She’s like my best friend.  Without her, I wouldn’t be where I am right now.

If you had the chance to address a person who had a misconception about the SCSD, what would you say?
I would tell them to don’t judge a book by it’s cover.  Misconceptions are usually formed due to a lack of knowledge.  The only way to know what goes on within our schools is to experience it on your own.  Sure, we have our own flaws, but what school doesn’t?
